Malibu Beach Cottage in California
Step inside this renovated 1940’s shingled cottage located in the very heart of Malibu, California. The original details of the home go beautifully with an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage rugs and fun Indian prints. Welcoming beach cottage in Malibu for our tour today. The dark door actually works with the appealing shingled cottage.
Three angles to best see this beach house living room. Lovely blend of the original design elements, coupled with fresh new coastal design pieces. Cool prints for the sofa and throw pillows. (See Amazon pillows.) It’s a bit hard to tell, but there’s a large dining table on the terrace for dining in the gentle ocean breeze.
Here’s a closeup of the fireplace. Muted blue glossy tiles surround the fireplace. What do you think about adding the dark wood surround to the tiles? I think it compliments nicely. Kinda old world meets fresh beach decor.
Apparently there’s a second living room in this Malibu cottage. It too, faces out to the sea. SO nice. I really need a beach house. I’m just saying.

OMGosh! To wake up to this every morning! The room has this white colored walls, which really help brighten up the room. Especially when those curtains with black and white print are widely open like that. Study table with a lamp that matches the vibe of those curtains. But who cares?! What with that gorgeous ocean as far as the eye can see. 🙂
Relaxing colors in the cabinetry located in this bathroom. Elegant lighting on both sides of the mirrors!
Or how about a blue bathroom? Perfect to get that nautical bathroom feel. I never would have picked the soft blue flower wallpaper… but I like it. Notice the bath faucet mounted on the wall, rather than down by the sink. This gives a more vintage feel.

Plain and white bunk bed for this room. My favorite piece here would be the rug! Vintage feels, yes?
