Lar Carmel Point - Living Room Dining Room
Now for the pops of color that add interest to any room! Striped sofa and multi-colored pillows. I would definitely go shopping for new pillows.. but the sofa is fun.

Sneak peek at the dining room (the chairs!) coming up next. ๐Ÿ™‚

Baby Chick Cottage

Baby Chick Cottage Living Room

First thing that caught my eye was the vibrant painting to the right… and then the red one over to the left. Love how the art adds pops of color. Also, I like the wrap of windows and doors.

Baby Chick Cottage Dining Room2

Notice the walls in this dining room. No inexpensive sheetrock here. Looks like 1×6 horizontal boards, painted a low sheen white. Brightens up the dark hardwood floors and wood dining table. Lovely.

Baby Chick Cottage Kitchen

Here you have the white in the white kitchen cabinets to compliment the gorgeous hardwood floors. Like the double windows over the kitchen sink. One of my favorite homes I owned, had three counter-to-ceiling windows wrapping a corner. Ahhh..

Baby Chick Cottage Bedroom One

Just as I wanted you to notice the dining room walls, check out these bedroom walls. Love it. Look how it adds dimension to theย  headboard. Note the old life preservers over the bed. Nice touch.

Baby Chick Cottage Master Bath

I’m surprised how modern this master bath is. Maybe I expected a claw foot tub, I’m not sure. I like it OK, but it’s a lot like the cookie cutter bathrooms we do here in Texas. I will say, the eight windows are fabulous for a bath that looks like it wouldn’t otherwise have windows.

Baby Chick Cottage Bedroom Two

Bright and cheerful beach bedroom. Hey, just noticed something interesting… Note how the hardwood floor wraps up the wall, and then the baseboard is put on top. I’ve never seen that before.

Baby Chick Bedrooms Three and Four

I put these two secondary beach bedrooms side by side for you do get some beach decorating ideas/. Clever use of space to build in a cabinet and double drawers at foot of bunk beds. LOVE that fish over the bed to the right.

Baby Chick Cottage Porch

This porch makes me want to curl up with a good book and frosty glass of sweet tea. How about you?!

Carmel by the Sea

Carmel by the Sea Elevation
Carmel by the Sea was built in the 1920’s by a young dressmaker who was drawn to the area for it’s serene, artistic community.
[tealbox]This picture perfect cottage along with a wee guest house was once for sale through[/tealbox] Carmel by the Sea - Living Room
Eighty-five years later this fairy-tale cottage has been beautifully and immaculately restored as you can see by the pictures!

The stone fireplace is original as are the wood floors.

Carmel by the Sea - Kitchen and Breakfast Nook
A stylish European kitchen with quintessential breakfast alcove, offers all the modern amenities for today’s chef.

Carmel by the Sea - Kitchen
More views of the bright white kitchen with white marble countertops along with a deep farmer’s sink. The contrasting granite on the island is very popular where I live also (Texas.)

Carmel by the Sea - Blue Bedroom
Updated bedroom painted in a soothing blue. How about the seahorse pillow?

Carmel by the Sea - Guest Living Room
This is the guest house living room. Small but perfectly appointed.

Carmel by the Sea - Guest Bedroom
Here is the guest house bedroom. Notice two things. See how the pillow is duplicated from living room to bedroom for continuity? Also, check out the wood ceiling beams. I don’t know if they’re original or added later for warmth.

Carmel by the Sea - Backyard
I can practically see the butterflies and hummingbirds that are sure to live in the cottage (English?) garden.

Tybee Island Beach Cottage the Blue Crab Cottage: Charming 1940’s cottage on Tybee Island recently underwent renovations and updates to furnishings. Bright and cheerful rental with three bedrooms and two baths.

Now let’s jump right in and check out this beach home tour!

Blue Crab Cottage living room
What I like about this living room is how they added beach decor without over doing it. There’s a beach theme pillow… oh wait! There are two beachy pillows. One on the chair and one on the sofa that I missed. The rug is great but it’s not beach per se. Very tasteful.

Blue Crab Cottage dining room
I’m crazy about the dining room! I like how the inside of the exterior door is painted turquoise, and then the dining room table a fun lime green. Against the crisp white and natural wood, it’s a perfect balance. What a clever idea to put candles inside lantern holders.

Blue Crab Cottage kitchen
White, white kitchen which is one of my fave looks. I would put a pop of color in there somewhere. Perhaps bar stool cushions or a painting. Or even an accessory or two on the kitchen counter. Actually, if you squint, you can see a lovely lime green tea kettle on the stove.

Blue Crab Cottage one bedroom
Notice the hardwood floors throughout. Coupled with the white and then bursts of color make this beach bedroom serene.ย  Do you see the wood walls as opposed to sheetrock? Nice!

Blue Crab Cottage bathroom
White subway tile for the bathroom with a black and white patterned tile in the shower. It would be kinda cool if they extended the same tile into the bathroom itself.ย  I guess we’ll have to visit to find out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Blue Crab Cottage two bedroom
Sweet little twin bed tucked away. Again I want you to notice how they did not overdo it with the beach decor. One simple yellow pillow saying “Sun” and that’s it. I like the thoughtful little side table added next to the bed.

Blue Crab Cottage back porch
Here they went all out with the color. Outside you’ve got the hot sun to balance out the vibrant colors. Plus look how comfy this porch looks. Notice the yellow door? I’m pretty sure that door leads to the dining room where they painted the inside turquoise.

Blue Crab Cottage pool
I saved one of the best parts for last. You get your own private pool. How fun is that? A rarity, that’s for sure.

There ya go! Hope you enjoyed the very first Beach Home Tour with many more to come.
